Research area 7 aims at developing security technologies for the infrastructures. This general objective consists of four specific goals: (i) Design and develop a secure, open IT architecture, available nationwide, which will serve as the starting point for building secure infrastructure that is not subject to the potential risks arising from the use of proprietary technologies; (ii) Improve the security of automotive infrastructure which, with the widespread interconnection and electrification of cars, will become one of the country’s most vulnerable assets; (iii) Improve the security, protection and resilience of smart power grids, which are a key element in optimising energy consumption and achieving the Green Deal; (iv) Contribute to improving the security posture of ICT assets (e.g., networks, IT/OT systems and services) included within the ‘National Cyber Security Perimeter’, by providing ontologies, methodologies, guidelines, best practices and appropriate tools.
